LATEST NEWS on WALKING/Covid-19 and Goodmanham rail path:

  • We have started walking again (from the 31st March) in small groups, each group has a maximum of 6 walkers. To facilitate contact tracing everyone must sign. Face masks may be worn but are not mandatory. On the 31st March we had 24 walkers split into 4 groups of varying routes and distance. MEET UP St Johns car park for 10am start.
    • We are following the latest guidelines from the Ramblers Association Please follow **CLICK HERE** PLEASE ALSO feel free to contact us to check the latest on reopening of all our walks via Facebook or contact/email David or Andrew.
  • UPDATES to GOODMANHAM RAIL PATH the deadline for appeal on Order Decision on Goodmanham Rail Path issued by ERYCC Planning Inspectorate has now expired. Recall ERYCC stated "I propose to confirm the Order subject to the following modifications:throughout the Order delete Restricted Byway and insert Public Footpath". The latest communication can be downloaded HERE which suggests a positive result in the near future.

    • We offer TWO walks every Wednesday: A short walk or a long walk
    • SHORT walk (around 2 miles) at a slow pace ideal for getting into walking
    • LONGER walk (around 4.5 miles) ideal for regular walkers

      START 10am every WEDNESDAY throughout the year

      MEET HERE and sign in at St John's Methodist Church from 9:45am. Post-Covid-19 Tea/Toast after walk

    • Longer distance to Weekly Walk between 7-12 miles
    • 3rd Friday in the month usually at 10am throughout the year
    • MW walkers meet at St Johns for car share to start
    • Bring Packed lunch
